Million dollar idea:

Let's start Sick Friends Network. sickfriends.net.

We'll all sign up, and when we log in we would like get a notice that someone has a sick friend in our region. We then take Fancy Soup to that person, as the faraway friend cannot.

Or, we call it farawayfriends.com. Or something. You can show your friend(s) the love (and the Fancy Soup) and it's also like paying it forward.

What do you think?

We could all become rich and famous. In that entirely selfless way.

Granted, we won't make as much money as whomever invented this:

i love this.

But we may be more famous. I mean, honestly, we don't even know who designed this baby. Was it one person or a team of Professional Automobile Antenna Accessories Creators? We may never know. But we thank them silently for helping the wacky and the elderly find their cars after shopping.

Trisha,
Lovely to see you back again. And I think this is a truly fabulous idea. Only I don't do any fancy soup. Maybe fancy brownies would do? I've been loving your photos recently, btw.

I make a mean chicken soup. Wish I had some right now! Does this mean you are sick?

t:

well, yes, we are, but i thought of it because i was chatting with my friend, amy, who lives in NC, and then I was chatting with my high school boyfriend, paul, who lives very near amy.

since i cannot take amy anything fancy (no, doesn't *have* to be soup, and you can certainly buy it at a store, whatever it is), i asked paul to, but he isn't.

paul:

I certainly would take something over if I could...I'm stuck here at stupid work. Stupid work, preventing me from paying forward and building karma.

t:

i know you totally would!

i think it's the fact that you would that builds the karma and stuff.

Anne:

Can I sign up as one of them sick friends?

amy:

Paul -- You are off the hook! I'm healthy again :)

amy:

Trisha- Sorry to hear that you guys are still sick... Wish I could do something for you. Alas, I don't know anyone who lives near you.

Love this idea -- very clever :)

t:

of course, annie!

what do you have?

lizziepea:

Glad you are back...always real food for thought...

Anne:

What do I have?
Whaddya got?

How bout Consumption? You know, when various Bronte sisters wrote about going to a party and a guest was resting, propped up on the chaise lounge, coughing softly and looking pale yet surprisingly chipper? Yea. I'll have that. A slow way to go, but at least you are given chaise lounges to relax on and everyone tiptoes around you and wipes your brow and tell you "Of course you'll soon recover! Don't be a silly bird!".

Sign me up! I'll cover Central VA, k?

You know, I live very near the Amy and the Paul. I could be your market tester on the faraway friends bit! I make a mean white chicken chili with enough Tabasco in it to cure what ails 'em.

Hey, Trisha, did you get my e-mail?

I love the antenna thingy inventors. I have Mickey Mouse ears on my antenna and I'm debating about putting my head with an OSU helmet on during football season. I just worry because it won't match my license plate that says "DSNEY". Yes, I really am a freak like that.

Love the fancy soup idea too.
